Player Account Questions
  • How do I create an account?
  • Why do you collect all of this information?
  • What do I do if I game at a LAN center?
  • The Roster is Locked! I can't edit/create an account.
  • My Clan Leader said to join the clan. What do I do?

  • How do I create an account?
Select "Register" from the top navigation bar. You need to fill in your account name (please no clan tags), your wonID (or other player-specific ID for non-Half-Life based games), your email address, and any other contact info you wish people to be able to reach you by. Make sure you type your password in the exact same way both times. Once you are done, hit submit, then go to the login page (the rightmost icon on the top navigation bar) and enter your account name and password to verify your account was created successfully.

Why do you collect all of this information?
Since clans from IGL play each other on a regular basis, we want to make sure that our players and clans can be reached where they say they can be reached. In addition, your email address is collected so we can send important IGL updates (which don't come often), or send you your password in the event you lose it. We use your wonID for checking in-match identity. We do not disclose any of your information to outside parties beyond what they can get by looking at your profile page in the members section.

What do I do if I game at a LAN center?
You must talk with an admin to verify the IP address range/wonIDs that the LAN center uses BEFORE YOU PLAY IN A MATCH. Failure to do so will result in your clan forfeiting the match.

The Roster is Locked! I can't edit/create an account.

On every page of the IGL's web site, including the main page, is a listing of the Roster/ID Status. It informs players if the Rosters are locked or unlocked. If locked, it indicates how long until it is unlocked (ex: 1 day, 12 hours, 49 minutes). If unlocked, it will show, in the same format, how long until the roster is locked again.

The roster is locked from Sunday night to Thursday morning and unlocked from Thursday morning to Sunday night. This Roster locking is done to prevent clans who must resort to cheating, to add in a 'ringer' (non-clan player pretending to be a clan member for that match).

During the unlocked period, clans and players may add/removed/edit accounts freely.
